DC Fontana’s ‘Six Against Eight’ is a short film created to help promote their debut album of the same name.

Shot on location in Portmeirion, north Wales & a manor house in the centre of England, the mini-movie is a magnificent mixture of dark & light, probing surrealism while heartily doffing the DC cap to the 60s TV spy genre.

The film lasts more than eight minutes & features DC Fontana lead singer Karla Milton alongside actors Tom Rees, Nathan Morris, Richard Taylor & Suzy Breda-Hill plus the rest of the DC group: Mark Mortimer, Scott Riley, Steve Trigg, Tim Nighingale, Andrew Wharton, Jamie Ryder, Nigel Horton & Jim Elliot-Williams.

Created by Anotherschmuck Productions of London, ‘Six Against Eight’ is a beautiful & living evocation of the group’s ‘art & soul’ creed & is an idiosyncratic slice of illusory eye candy to decorate your mind’s eye.

Directed by Martin Copland-Gray & produced by the group’s bass player Mark Mortimer, the movie features the album’s title track and a few other tunes from the collection.

The album ‘Six Against Eight’ is released on DCTone Records on August 6, 2010 and is available to buy from www.dcfontana.com as a deluxe CD containing 14 original compositions or as mp3 downloads from the same site & all other good downloads ites on the net.

The ‘Six Against Eight’ album is produced by long-time Julian Cope guitarist/producer Donald Ross Skinner & is mastered by Smiths, U2, Las, Talking Heads, Go-Betweens & Travis producer Mark Wallis. It is mixed by G Corp and Gavin Skinner.

It was recorded at Parr Street Studios in Liverpool & involves collaborations with the Liverpool Session Orchestra under the leadship of Christian Badzura plus the sarangi virtuoso Surinder Sandhu.
